Vintage Keeper VP110 Series Wine Cabinets - The Cheapest Choice
If you look for an inexpensive 100-bottle wine refrigerator then the Vintage Keeper VP-110 110 bottle wine cooler is a good choice.
Vintage Keeper wine storage units are cheap wood panel cabinets with simulated wood grain finish and full-length UV-filtering thermopane glass door. The door comes with a lock & key set. This wine refrigerator has 1 temperature zone and cannot be built-in.
Temperature can be set from 50°F to 72°F with a programable microprocessor-controlled thermostat. The snap-in metal shelving is space-economical. There's a light mounted on the top part of the cabinet interior.
The VP-110 model is avaliable in 3 color finishes:
- black
- maple, and
- burgundy
Dimensions:

This is a freestanding cabinet and requires at least 4-5 inches space around the sides and at the back for proper air circulation.

Consumer Complaints: unfortunately many wine lovers who bought a Vinatge Keeper wine cooler haven't been satisfied with their choice. These underpriced wine storage units won't last long since cheap materials are used (someone has complained that the bolts that hold the doors start to get loose, and the door lock dislodges easily too.).
The biggest problem is however that several users reported that the cooling unit of the cabinet tends to fail. One user had to replace the cooler part 3 times.

Danby DWC110BLSRH 110-Bottle Wine Refrigerator, Silhouette Line, Dual-Zone
This attractive wine fridge stores up to 110 standard size wine bottles in its two independently controlled temperature zones. The Danby DWC110BLSRH uses traditional compressor cooling with auto defrost feature.
The black cabinet has all black interior and dual pane, tinted glass door with brushed chrome frame and a towel bar handle. The door has a security lock with key. The 9 cherry wood shelves glide on roller assembly to allow convenient access to wines. The shelves have stainless steel fronts. A series of blue LED lights illuminate the inetrior and the wines nicely. The control panel is built-in between the two zones. With the control buttons ("Set Upper" for the upepr zone, "Set Lower" for the lower zone) you can set the temperature individualyl for the two compartments in the range of 39°F - 64°F (4°C - 18°C). |

The panel also includes the On/Off and Interior light switches. There's also an indicator light that turns on when the fridge runs a cooling cycle.
The blue digital readout displays the current for each zone. You can view the set temperature by pressing the Set Upper or the Set Lower buttons for a short time. The set temp. will flash for a few seconds before the dispaly screen gets back to showing the current temperature.
You can change between Fahrenheit and Celsius display by pressing the ‘Set Upper’ and ‘Set Lower’ control buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds.

It has compressor cooling and easy-to-use digital controls to set and monitor the interior cabinet temperature. The door can be locked. The manufacturer no longer makes this model but some wine accessory shops still may have a few models available. |

Amcor VW-150 100-bottle Wine Refrigerator - Dual-Zone
In the Amcor WV-150 wine cabinet you can fit in around 80-100 bottles of wine depending on bottle sizes and shapes. It's an elegant wine rerfigerator with black cabinet and see-through, tinted glass door framed by brushed chromed metal trim. The door comes with a lock & key set should you want to keep your wines safe from unwanted access. It has a solid aluminum bar door handle The 8 redwood shelves are equipped with sturdy ball-bearing slide-out assembly for full-extension. The shelves also have a protective notch that prevents shelves from rolling out of track. |

The Amcor WV-150 has two temperature zones:
- one for chilling whites and sparkling wine (lower compartment) at 41 - 54°F
- the other (upper comapartment) is for storing reds at 54 - 72°F
Temperature adjustment is very easy for both zones with the digital controls integrated inside the cabinet above the top shelf.
The digital LED display on the right side of the control panel shows temperature (current or preset) of the Upper compartment, the display on the left-hand side indicates temperature (current or adjusted) for the lower zone.
The wine cooler is equipped with activated charcoal filter to provide clean air for the cabinet interior (it's a useful feature if you plan to place the unit in the kitchen where the air is filled with cooking smells).
The Amcor WV-150 has front ventillation so you can build it in your existing cabinetry or use it as freestanding (the cooler plugs into a standard outlet: 115 V/60Hz).
This is a compressor-operated wine fridge but it's very quiet even during cooling cycles.

Vestfrorst CVKG-581 106 Bottle Wine Cooler, Single temp. Zone
Vestfrost is based in Denmark and it's the country's largest manufacturer of refrigerators and freezers and they recently expanded their product line with wine coolers.
The silver finish cabinet and the smoked, slightly arched door glass lend a sleek contemporary look to the Vestfrost CVKG-581 wine refrigerator. The door hinging is reversible. The 7 full-extension wood shelves hold wine bottles securely.
The compressor of the unit is equipped with vibration dampeners to ensure that your wines are stored safely without any unncessary disturbance.
This is a single-zone wine fridge for which you can adjust the temperature from 43 to 61 deg. Fahrenheit. The unit contains charcoal air filter to ensure that clean, odor-free air is circulated inside the cabinet.

The Vestfrost CVKG-581 is for free-standing placement only and it has other weaknesses compared to the other 100-bottle wine coolers reviewed in this artcicle:

Summit SWC1775 120-Bottle Wine Cooler, 2 Temperature Zones
The design and features of the Summit SWC1775 wine cellar are similar to that of Vestforst VKG 581's described above, because the Summit SWC1775 wine cooler is also manufactured for Summit by Vestfrost in Denmark.
The black cabinet has dark brown interior which provides a nice background to the wine bottles. The low-intensity, fluorescent interior light pleasantly showcases the wines.
The Summit SWC1775 is a dual zone wine cellar with two separate compartments each with its own door. It's UL approved so it's suitable for commercial use in wine restaurants or bars. The two zones have their own dual pane, tempered transparent glass doors. The door is slightly tinted to filter out UV rays. The door is reversible.
Note that some retailers sell it without lock and key, however Summit offers the SWC1775 with a single lock & key set for both doors.
5 adjustable wood shelves are standard but you can upgrade it to 7 shelves. The shelves are removable.
Although the Summit SWC1775 is compressor-operated it doesn't contain CFC-s (organic chemicals known partly responsible for the thining of the protective ozone layer in the upper layers of the atmosphere).
Temperature can be adjusted with a manual control in the range of 43 - 61 °F. The major weakness of the Summit SWC1775 wine cooler is that it doesn't have temperature display. Similarly to the Vestfrost VKG-581 the Summit SWC1775 model also contains vibration dampeners. There's also activated carbon filter to provide clean air for the cabinet interior.

The Franklin Chef FWC100 can store up to 100 bottles of wine in its two individually controlled temperature zones. Each compartment can accommodate 50 bottles of wine on 10-10 scalloped chrome-plated wire shelves that securely cradle the bottles. The shelves can be pulled out only 1/3 of the way. This elegant wine refrigerator has double doors: both door panels are dual-pane glass doors with stainless steel bar pulls and lock & key set is included for each compartment door. The full-view glass door provides a nice view of the stored wines especially when the interior light is on. |

The temperature can be set individually for each zone in the range of 46 - 64 °F with digital controls mounted in the top frame of the door wings.
To adjust the temperature press the SET button then the UP/DOWN arrows to select the desired cooling temp. When you selected the temperature confirm it by pressing the SET button. The thermostat of the unit is located in the top part of the cabinet. Temperature in the bottom will always be a bit colder than in the upper section.
The LCD readout will show the current temperature in both zones also the interior lighting can be turned on independently in the 2 compartments.
